Thunderstorms or other voltage surges can destroy any electronics, so get enough suppressors to protect them all. Don't buy the cheap $5.00 suppressors, they offer almost no protection. Buy one that costs $30 or more, and has an insurance policy to cover anything that is damaged by a surge. These days many of the insurance policies have too many loopholes to be worthwhile, but if they offer it at all, it's a sign they have greater levels of protection than the cheaper ones.
Even better, have an electrician install a whole-house (or office) surge suppressor, usually in your circuit breaker box. These can offer the highest level of protection.
